Math - A Foreign Language

Why is math such a difficult subject for most students? I believe its because mathematics is like a foreign language.

Difficulty comes from not understanding.

I had had difficulty in math since I was young but due to the need to know and master the subject, I was able to learn. Understanding math requires CDC (Courage, Determination, Commitment). You need to be ready to face difficulties, persevere and be self-motivated.

Learning math is like building a relationship. You need to know the basic things (yet important) about math. Always spend time on math. Remember important details. You have to make time. And if ever you come to the point of giving up…try again. If you just can’t continue further…seek help.

Math is a wonderful experience…don’t let your fear blind you of its beauty.
